The plan utilizes several long term strategies.  Plan participants complete Health Risk Assessments and confidentially work with physicians to complete an action plan to improve their health and wellness.  On site wellness seminars on subjects such as stress management, nutrition, diabetes, asthma, healthy heart, and women’s health are an additional tool to promote health and wellness.  Education and awareness of health and wellness issues are promoted through the use of customized newsletters.

 

 

The program captures population specific data which can be used to tweak health plan benefit design.  An example, which has had significant positive results, is actually lowering or elimination co-pays for diabetes related drugs and supplies to encourage diabetics to maintain a consistent healthier lifestyle.
