Transitions

Passed: Dr. Dan Plunkett

From Janice Nicklas, Project Director of the Tulsa Community AIDS Partnership:

It is with great sadness that we learned about the death of Dr. Dan Plunkett over the weekend.  Dr. Plunkett stepped forward early in Tulsa's effort to get organized to fight AIDS and added his name to the list of physicians who felt people living with HIV/AIDS needed to be treated with compassion and dignity.  He helped us broaden our network of care, and not only served on the Tulsa Community AIDS Partnership (TCAP) Advisory Council since its formation in 1993, but also supported our local fundraising for the National AIDS Fund Challenge Grant every year.  We are grateful for his efforts and will miss his wise counsel and courage in helping us develop medical care and prescription drug treatment for people living with HIV/AIDS and many others who were facing difficult and challenging health problems.
