Meet the Artists reception Wed. Sept. 5, 6-9pm
In honor of the Pagan Pride festival (Sept 22-23 at the Equality Center), the September gallery exhibit will
feature artwork from the OK Pagan Association.
Media includes ceramic, wood sculpture, oil, acrylic, charcoal, watercolor, photography, stoneware, and
sculpture.
Featured artists include Karen Heck, Daniel Sprick, Merry Schepers, Allie Jenson, Michael Christopher, Kathleen
Pendergrass,
Andy O'Rear, Wendy Farley, Candy Vilott, Gloria Youngdeer, and Ayçegül Gedizman.

MCC Coming-Out History: A Film Series
Each Thursday in September, 7pm
The Universal Fellowship of
Metropolitan Community Churches (the first LGBT organization in the USA
to own property) has been a leader in the forefront of the battle for
civil rights, justice and equality for LGBT people for the last 40 years.
This film series, presented by Reverend Carolyn Mobley of MCC United, will cover the
themes of "Coming Out" as gay and Christian, Sexuality and the Bible,
Women In Ministry, A Compassionate Response to HIV/AIDS, and "Queering
the Bible."
September 6: "God, Gays, and the Bible: This Is Our Story"
The founding of the church in the turbulent 1960s and 1970s and the beginning of the AIDS crisis in the
1980s
September 13: "Outing the Bible"
A look at not only the negative Scriptures used or misused to hurt and abuse LGBT people, but also the
positive Scriptures that affirm same-gender affection and those who are sexually different from the majority.
September 20: "In Their Own Language"
Providing a look at the expansion of MCC around the world and begins to the MCC response to HIV/AIDS around
the world.
September 27: "The Mother of Peace Orphanage In Zimbabwe"
A view of MCC's collaboration with the Bishop Yvette Flunder of the UCC and Fellowship 2000, joined to serve
the most underserved in the world.

"God, Gays, and the Bible: This Is Our Story", the first in a series films documenting the history of the LGBT
movement through MCC, will be this Thursday, September 6, at 7pm at the Equality Center.
The series continues each Thursday through the month of September.

Oklahomans for Equality is excited to announce the first session of a new program, Faith in Crisis. This new
group supports those experiencing
religious/spiritual crises or questioning related to sexual orientation
and identity.
Through the help of two experienced facilitators, OkEq will provide
a
safe, confidential environment
for sharing questions and concerns, supporting others, learning from
others' experiences, and collaboratively exploring religious/spiritual
crises and ways to manage, cope, grow and heal from such experiences.

DIVAS 2007 Concert to Benefit H.O.P.E
The 2007 benefit supporting H.O.P.E programs is produced by Tulsa sensation Rebecca Ungerman and
features an all-star lineup: Cindy Cain, John Sawyer, Heather Richetto
Rumley,
OkEq volunteer and MCC pastor Reverend Carolyn
Mobley, Pam Van Dyke Crosby, Christy Hanewinkel from The Red Alert,
Annie Ellicott, and Charlie Redd from the Full Flava Kings; as well as
a silent and live auction.
Proceeds will help support H.O.P.E.
programs, such
as prevention education about HIV/AIDS, hepatitis and other STIs, the
only statewide 24-hour HIV/STD resource hotline, and the only free,
anonymous testing and counseling facility in northeastern Oklahoma --
including the service provided at the Equality Center.

Lesbian Marriage Study
Very little research
has been done to understand discovering one's lesbian identity and
slowly coming out while in a heterosexual marriage. This study
seeks to gain a better understanding of the meaning of that experience.
This study, focusing specifically on Tulsa women, invites you to write your "Lived Experience." You must be
female, have been previously married within a heterosexual marriage, and
self-identify as a lesbian.
