Join Y-ME Illinois for our First Annual Book Club Discussion
Y-ME Illinois is pleased to invite you to our first ever book club meeting on Monday, April 16th
from 6:00pm until 7:00pm. We will be discussing Why I Wore Lipstick to My Mastectomy by Geralyn Lucas. The first ever
book club meeting will take place here in the Y-ME Illinois offices (now located at 300 W. Adams, Suite 430).
Geralyn Lucas' Why I Wore Lipstick... is a memoir of a young breast cancer patient and discusses every part
of the cancer experience, from surgery to chemotherapy to intimacy. Lucas's book is unique because it manages to
leave the reader with an optimistic sense of empowerment.

Y-ME Illinois Joins with the Junior League of Chicago to Celebrate our
Volunteers
Y-ME Illinois is proud to partner with the Junior League of Chicago to present "Volunteerism in Bloom", a
garden party celebrating volunteers from Y-ME Illinois and the Junior League of Chicago. Experience the spirit of volunteerism with an afternoon of
appreciation, cocktails, tea and treats in one of the most historic homes in the Gold Coast. Guest speakers will share their experiences with Y-ME
Illinois and the Junior League in addition to providing their insights on the importance of breast cancer awareness.

with Y-ME Illinois
in the Race to Empower on Mother's Day. All are invited to join the

Weed St. on Thursday, April 26th to
support the Y-ME Illinois Associate Board: Team Code Pink who will walk in the
Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization's Race to Empower on Mothers' Day, May
13th.

Registration for the First Annual Y-ME Walk in Springfield is Now

The First Annual Y-ME Walk in Springfield is set to take place on Sunday, June 3rd. Y-ME Illinois is
so excited to work with the community of Springfield to better ensure that no one faces breast cancer alone. The Y-ME Walk is an exciting way

A free, monthly one-hour teleconference featuring a

divided into small groups for discussion, which are moderated
