Y-ME Illinios Proudly Introduces Our New Staff
Members
Executive Director: Jude Andrews
My name is Jude Andrews. I am delighted that I have
joined the team of Y-ME Illinois. I come from Northern Ireland and have been living in America for 13 years. Chicago feels like
home to me now and I love living here.
I have traveled and worked in many places in Europe as well as Egypt and
Morocco. I am also fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to work in the non-profit arena in Alaska, Minnesota and Chicago
over the last 11 years.
Enough about me! Y-ME Illinois will be my focus now. I
know I have big shoes to fill. I never had the opportunity to meet Ruth Brody, my predecessor, but when I hear people talk about
her I can see how much she was loved and respected.
My door will always be open for you. I have much to
learn from your experience. Cancer has been my close companion for many years now, but I am well now and healthy.
My own personal focus will integrate well with our strategic plan. Until
the cause for breast cancer is found, then early detection and providing the resources for everyone to access the necessary care and comfort will be
paramount. My thanks to you for supporting this great organization; to the staff for their tireless dedication to the task in hand and to the
Board of Directors who dedicate their time and energy without recompense, in order to help others.
I can't wait to meet or hear from you. You know where to reach
me!
You can contact Jude at jandrews@y-me.org
Advocacy Coordinator: Rachel Runnals
I am very excited to be the newest addition to Y-ME Illinois and to be a part of
such an amazing team. I am originally from Brighton, Michigan and have just relocated to Chicago. I attended
Michigan State University, with internship experience ranging from arts administration to working on Capitol Hill, and was fortunate enough to be
able to have studied abroad in Greece. I also enjoy taking dance class, painting and am very excited to experience all that
Chicago has to offer. I came to Y-ME Illinois because I have a personal connection to breast cancer, and am committed to
ensuring that I not only preserve the lives of the women in my family, but for women everywhere. My family has lost both my
grandmother, who was truly my favorite person in the world, and great-grandmother to the disease. I honestly believe in our
legislative priorities and know that together, we can make a difference. I look forward to learning and growing with Y-ME Illinois
and encourage everyone to participate with us in our advocacy efforts!
