TREETOPS RESORT ANNOUNCES
THE AMAZING RACE EVENT
Popular resort to host winter event
based on the CBS TV show
Treetops Village, Mich. (January 12, 2006) Treetops, the Northern
Michigan golf and ski resort just outside the alpine village of
Gaylord, will host its own version of the popular CBS-TV show Amazing
Race.
The event will be staged on three different weekends: January 21-22,
February 11-12, and March 11-12. The top 2-3 teams from the first two
weekends will be invited back to participate in the final weekend at no
charge.
Entry into the Amazing Race at Treetops event will cost $20 per team
and is open to anyone with a valid lift ticket or season ski pass.
Entrants need a partner and skis, a snowboard or blades. Treetops
offers rental equipment if needed for an additional charge.
Two-person teams will race across the resort over and through the ski
slopes, tubing run, ski lifts, lodge, the Broken Club Pub, and the Inn
while performing various tasks such as Roadblocks, which requires only
one team member to perform the task, and Detours, which requires a
choice of tasks performed by both team members in order to receive
clues on how to get to the next destination. There will also be Pit
Stops, which are mandatory rest periods along the way to keep it
exciting by ensuring that no one team will get an insurmountable lead.
Each weekend race will begin on Saturday and conclude on Sunday with
wonderful prizes going to the winning teams. Entries will be accepted
on the morning of the events.
