Unfortunately the need
for services in our community is growing and it really boils down to stories like this one sent to a staff member in HAVEN’s advocacy program
recently from a client:
“Just wanted to give you some new contact information... You can
still use my old email address, but this is the one to use if you want to "talk" to me weekdays during business hours. I am usually pretty close
to my computer. I have to talk to my boss and find out if there is something that can be done about the fact that you can go to my
company’s website and pull a directory and find my direct line, building address, etc. I don't need it to be that easy for the ex to
find me. I don't want to be like that woman who got killed not that long ago by her ex husband as she left work. I feel like a sitting
duck walking to and from work everyday."
