Take Back the Night
Take Back the Night (TBTN) is an
international tradition in which cities around the world have participated since 1973. The first TBTN in the United States was a national protest in
San Francisco. Throughout the years, TBTN has expanded its focus to include ending all forms of violence against women and transforming a culture
that endorses the oppression of women. The main focus of this program is to demand an end to rape, sexual assault, domestic violence, incest and
sexual harassment.
On Friday, April 20, at 7:00 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club of
South Oakland County, HAVEN is hosting Take Back the Night, a rally, march and speakout to empower and
acknowledge survivors of sexual assault.
The event is open to the general public and community
participation is encouraged.

Promenade of Hope
HAVEN’s signature fundraising event, PROMENADE OF HOPE 2007, will be held Thursday, May 17, 2007, at 6 p.m. at LaSalle Bank
Headquarters in Troy. This year’s event, themed The Art of Healing, will showcase artwork from survivors and the local community. The evening includes the display and auction of original survivor art and Live Art by Victor Pytko and Laura
Host.
WXYZ Channel 7 News Anchor Diana Lewis will emcee this year’s event
which features a strolling dinner, silent and live auctions. This year's honorary chairs are Mark Hoppe, CEO of LaSalle Bank Midwest, and Mary
Hoppe.
Promenade of Hope reminds us all
that domestic violence and sexual assault are frightening crimes that occur regardless of economic, racial, religious, educational, or gender
orientation differences. It is an event of hope to celebrate survivors who can now live without fear.
Promenade of Hope
raises necessary funds for HAVEN’s programs and services that help courageous survivors. HAVEN continues to search for
sponsors and auction items for the event. Individual tickets are $200 each.
