Coming this fall, West Texas A&M University is branching out to serve the Amarillo community. The plan is to offer upper level and
graduate programs from a downtown site called the West Texas A&M University Amarillo Center. "The Amarillo Center will allow us to better serve the
Amarillo and Panhandle higher education markets, making it easier for individuals to attend WT," WTA&M University president J. Patrick O'Brien said.

Ideas worth $300,000

Judging for the Amarillo EnterPrize Challenge wrapped up this week. Final steps are taking place to announce winners of the
$300,000 grant. So far, 33 different small businesses have received cash grants for as much as $75,000 and have created more than 281 new jobs

of projects completed in FY 2007 is projected to create 1,935 new direct and indirect jobs worth an estimated $101.4 million in personal income and

Bell Helicopter celebrates 100th Osprey delivery
This week Bell Helicopter's Military Aircraft Assembly Center here in Amarillo commemorated the delivery of the 100th Osprey.
Bell Boeing V-22 Program Director Gene Cunningham praised the workers who build tilt-rotor aircraft. "It is an incredible job and an incredible
journey that we have been on. This airplane is doing things that no other airplane has done," Cunningham told the crowd. "This month is also the
beginning of a longer journey for us. We hope to sign a multi-year contract with the government to provide not another 100 but another 167 airplanes
to the U.S. government." Lt. Gen. George Trautman III, deputy commandant of Marine Corps aviation, said 12 Ospreys are now in Iraq performing
scouting missions, medical evacuations and hauling troops and equipment to and from the battlefield. Read more from the Amarillo Globe
