BTA Friends,
It's time to reserve your seat for the Alice Awards & Auction, taking place March 22nd at the Oregon Convention
Center in Portland.
The party is about bike fun, bike advocacy and bike stuff (for sale in the fabulous auction). More than
35% of tickets have already been sold, and the purchase deadline is March 16th, so buy your tickets today!
Tickets are $75, a full table of ten can be reserved for $750. Last year 720 people attended and the
event raised more than $74,000 for the BTA's work around the state.
What's so special about this fundraiser?
- This year's theme is Alice in Paris, after the great things Paris has done of late to make bicycling
irresistible, including rental bikes and Sunday Parkways along the Seine
(both coming soon to
Portland). Start growing your mustache now! Cravats, berets and other French apparel also encouraged.
- Great
auction
items big and small, like the Cycle Oregon #1 wristband, a bike tour in France, a
handmade wooden bike from Bikes to Rwanda, glow-in-the-dark bike scarves, year-round ride admissions, concert tickets, massages, a custom-made
terrarium, dance lessons, and more!
- We'll honor 37
nominees from Oregon and SW Washington, and the five who will receive Alice B. Toeclips Awards for bike advocacy and education excellence.
(Plus,
rumor has it that one Bud Clark Award for Lifetime Achievement will be given out to a surprise honoree.)
- This is like "prom for bicyclists" so dust off your formal duds, and come share an evening with 750
other people who care as much as you do about making our communities great for bicycling.
Can't wait to see you there!
