NSF Moves to the Npt Arts Center

NSF has moved its administrative offices to the Nashville Public Television "creative campus."  The Festival now shares a home with four other arts organizations under one roof: Nashville Public Television, Tennessee Repertory Theatre, Nashville Film Festival, and the Mid-South Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

Being located at Npt allows NSF to hold workshops and rehearsals in the same building as its offices.  Sharing the building with so many other arts organizations also opens the door for exciting new creative collaborations.

NSF Artistic Director Denice Hicks Directs The Taming of the Shrew at Harpeth Hall School

Denice Hicks took audiences on a spirited romp through the decade of flower power, Woodstock, and Laugh-In with a 1960's themed production of Shrew starring students from Harpeth Hall and other Nashville schools.

One proud parent remarked, "I just wanted to thank you on many levels for the great production.  Whenever Shakespeare is done on the Harpeth Hall stage I feel proud.  I have seen many high school productions of Shakespeare and this one was at the top.  The kids got it and they bought into it.  I loved everything about it.  Thank you for directing them in such a wonderful way."

The Nashville Shakespeare Festival partners with Nashville area high schools to provide professional directors for school productions of Shakespeare’s plays.  This gives students and faculty the invaluable opportunity to work directly with a practicing theatre artist on all aspects of production.
